I don’t know how it is I can get through a day without drinking any water. Oh sure I get plenty of H2O from the salads I eat and the other veggies and fruit that make up my every-day diet. And I drink tea…oh how I love my iced tea. But how is it possible to get through a day without a glass in my hand that resembles water? I’m taking a wild guess here, but I think it’s because it’s summer (technically) and it just feels like I should be drinking things with a little more flavor. That’s why I came up with this Sweet Lemon Water drink. It’s not really lemonade, but close.
It’s such an easy thing to make – a glass of water, a slice of lemon, and one package of Truvia for a calorie-free, slightly sweet glass of water.
Look – you can watch this really quick video I made showing how easy it is to make this tasty and refreshing water.
You know when you walk into the lobby of those fancy hotels and they have a tall pitcher of water with lemons in it, and you feel like Gwyneth Paltrow as you stroll over to the pitcher and fill your empty water bottle, even though they have the tiny complimentary cups you’re supposed to use, but you’re really thirsty and, heck, you’re from Missouri, what do they expect?
Well, now you can get that feeling right at home by making your own citrus water. I know what you’re thinking – finally!
Needless to say, since adding this little beverage to my repertoire, I’m finally getting in that necessary (and now even looked forward to) glass of water every day.
Sweet Lemon Water
- 1 tall glass of chilled water, preferably filtered
- 1 – 2 slices of lemon, depending on your taste preferences
- 1 package of Truvía
- Ice, optional
- Squeeze one or two slices of lemon into the glass of water, add a package of Truvia and stir until the Truvia is dissolved.
- Place the lemon slices in the water and add ice if you’d like.
How’s that for easy? Enjoy!
