Strawberry Green Tea

Ingredients

  • 2 cups filtered water
  • 1 green tea bag
  • ½ teaspoon matcha powder (optional)
  • 3 medium strawberries (plus more for serving)
  • 2 slices fresh lime
  • sweetener (optional)
  • 2 fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  • Heat water in a saucepan or microwave until hot but not boiling.
  • Remove from heat and add the green tea bag. Steep for 3 to 5 minutes. Optional: After the green tea has steeped, stir in matcha powder.
  • Add ice to a large mason jar until it's ¾ filled.
  • Use a fork to mash the strawberries. Add mashed strawberries and lime slices to the ice.

  • Remove tea bag from the water and discard. Pour warm tea into the pitcher with the ice.

  • To serve add sweetener of choice and fresh mint leaves.

Notes

If you don't have fresh ginger, substitute ½ to 1 teaspoon of dried ground ginger.
