Strawberry Banana Matcha Smoothie

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla protein powder
  • 1 ½ cups ice
  • 1 ½ teaspoons matcha powder
  • 1 cup strawberries (fresh or frozen) See note if using frozen strawberries.

Instructions

  • Add the milk, banana, protein powder, and ice to a blender. Blend on low until mostly broken down. Scrape down sides of the blender jar. Gradually increase blending speed until the mixture is smooth.

  • Pour half of this mixture into a bowl. Stir in the matcha powder.

  • Add strawberries to the remaining mixture in the blender. If using frozen strawberries, see note below. Blend until smooth.

  • Pour some of the strawberry mixture into a glass. Then add a bit of the matcha mixture. Finish with some more of the strawberry mixture to create beautiful layers.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

For Frozen Strawberries

If using frozen strawberries, let them sit out a few minutes to soften. This will make blending easier. You may need to add a bit more almond milk if using frozen strawberries.
